Hey there! My name is Jordyn, and I am the owner and creator of Aurora Howlers Co.
I am a lover of nature, adventure, and especially, dogs. I'm a practicing registered veterinary technologist and I was born and raised in Alberta, Canada. I enjoy being creative, and bringing my spontaneous ideas to life. Before I got into hand stamping, I spent a lot of my creative time making acrylic paintings. My best, adventurous self, enjoys going for walks, finding new trails, and exploring the mountains whenever I get the chance. I am always searching for an excuse to escape for a mountain getaway - the mountains are where I feel most alive.
I have four pets of my own, each of them from a different rescue/adoption situation. They are two adorable cats, Akaya, and Raja, and two incredible dogs, Ruka; a 10 year old husky mix, and Azura; a 3 year old GSD mix. I cherish my fur babies deeply, and each one arrived in my life at exactly the right time.
If I'm being honest, I never envisioned myself starting a small business, but being a small business owner is one of the things about myself that I love, and I am most proud of. I can't wait to see where my little business takes me.
Aurora Howlers Co. officially launched in March of 2022, but initially it started out as a hobby in 2021, after I came across a hand stamped tag for the first time. The tag was a small brass disc, and underneath the name was a single stamped tree. It was the first time I had ever seen a pet tag with this kind of appearance so I started searching for a similar kind of tag for my own dogs. I started researching pet ID tags like the one I saw, and soon realized that a lot of my search results included links to the pages of small businesses and dog tag supplies. I'm not sure when my mindset shifted from buyer to creator, because there are so many other incredible pet ID tag businesses out there, I very easily could have found what I wanted... but I guess my creative side fell in love with the idea of making my own. Once I had the idea, I started creating a wish list of things I wanted/needed for this project, and eventually placed an order for some stamps and supplies online!
I remember getting my first order of stamps, and how excited I was to be able to make super cute dog tags for my own dogs. I soon realized how much I enjoy hand-stamping, and I was so exited about how cute and unique the tags were turning out, I soon began sharing my creations with my friends and family. I got an overwhelmingly positive response from everyone who received a tag from me - and that is what made me want to share it with the world beyond the small group of people who were supporting my developing hobby. When I started out, I was using cheaper supplies, and I was not as confident in the items I was creating for others. I decided to splurge a little more on a stronger, more durable metal type, and it made the world of a difference! That is when I decided that I wanted to focus on creating reliable tags that are not just known for their unique designs.
I use high quality, durable, personally tested and trusted products to create personalized pet tags and keychains with the same qualities. My creations at Aurora Howlers Co. have been able to withstand many types of wear and tear, my ultimate goal is to create tags with quality that will not diminish, regardless of how much time goes by. With proper care, these tags can go through the worst of the worst and still come out looking good as new!
